Lake Itasca

Well hello, and welcome to my blog. This evening we will be taking a look back a my travels up to he headwaters of the Mighty Mississippi River. I will also tell you about my first trip to the beach. I hope you enjoy.

My mom was at Lake Itasca in Northern Minnesota for her job working with Nature of Life. She was gone for a whole week but daddy and I went to visit her over the weekend. She missed us like crazy. While at Lake Itasca we stayed in a cabin. There was a rocking chair that I could pull myself up to stand by. It was great. My mom sometimes puts stuff on chairs so I can't play with it...she's going to have to wake up pretty early in the morning to fool me now!

(I had to upload pictures at grandma's house this weekend and it was going slowly. Sorry for the small pictures.)

The cabin we stayed in was pretty nice but there was no bath tub. I don't know if you see this, but I had to take a bath IN THE SINK. I could touch all the stuff on the counter. There wasn't much room to kick back and relax. I think this should be a consideration for the future. Perhaps the Itasca Biological Station can install jacuzzi tubs. Now that would be great!

Going to the beach! I don't know what that means but my mom was pretty excited. I got to wear my bathing suit and everything.

Wait a second, what's all that dirty rock stuff!? I don't want to sit in that. It's warm and scratchy and gets inside my diaper.

I have no idea why people like the beach. The water is COLD. I don't want to stick my feet in, I don't want to stick my hands in, I don't want to be splashed and frankly I am not sure if the beach is for me.

However, there was a very nice swing set right by the beach. I like to swing. It made my day...and my trip. Well, that along with seeing my mom.

What in the world am I wearing? While my mom was away I got to stay with daddy. He always manages to look nice but I have no idea what he is thinking when he picks out my clothes. If only I could get that drawer open I could do it myself.

One of us just woke up from a nap, can you guess which one?

My mommy forgot her camera at Great Grandma's house so no new blog until next Mondayish. :)
