Fire safety week

This week was Fire Prevention week.  We went to an event at the South St Paul Fire Station.  They gave away hot dogs and awesome hats.

They had a fire demonstration where kids were able to use an extinguisher to get out flames.  Carson was a HUGE fan of this event.  He cut in front of about 10 kids to get a turn.  He's a sneaky guy.  He tried to do it a second time but mom figured it was time to go.  She carried him to the car.

This was Carson's second favorite "event".  Mom said that he wasn't supposed to touch the snow plow, he didn't really listen.

At one point of distraction, while I was in the jumper, Carson sat on front of the fire truck.  You couldn't get in the fire trucks this time.  It was still pretty fun.

When we got home it was time to unwind.  We checked out a bunch of fire safety books at the library and talked about our plan for getting out safe.  If there is a fire we need to leave the house right away and go to a neighbor's house.  Then we call 1-1-9 for help.  Wait, no, 9-1-1.  I'm working on knowing my address.  Hopefully if we ever have to leave the house Carson will be wearing pants.  Or not, whatever.

This seems a little weird, maybe just because it was fire week, we made s'mores on the oven.  We talked about how fire was hot and we shouldn't touch it, then we held flammable food over a flame.  Not the best idea Mom, but totally delicious!
