Independence Day

Sorry this is so late! Last weekend we went to Iowa to celebrate July 4th. It was raining outside but we went to a parade. I sat in my stroller and was nice and cozy.

When the parade started I got scared by the sirens so watched the parade from mommy's lap. I got a frisbe and a balloon mouse.

After the parade I went with Nana to the park. It was a neat playground. There were swings and things to jump on. There were also a couple of slides.

I like to slide but skirts aren't the best sliding clothes. You don't go very fast. The slide was also wet. I told Nana that she should get a towel. Apparently she didn't bring one with her.

Grandpa took me down a scary slide. I thought we were going to get stuck. I think he also thought we were going to get stuck. Grandpa didn't have a dress on but he still didn't go very fast down the slide.

Daddy started a fire at Grandma's house. It was "hot". Mommy brought out some yummy marshmallows but rather than let me eat them she started them on fire then put them between 2 graham crackers.

Delicious!

I was sad when my yummy marshmallow sandwich was gone.

I see you, you sneaky Speedy! Let me come to keep you company, you seem lonely. Apparently I missed all the excitement at the fire. Bobby the goat tried to make his big escape but everyone was sitting at the fire so saw him and took him back inside the fence. He's a tricky one!

I like to help Nana water her flowers just like I help mommy but Nana has WAY more flowers. She knows how to tire a girl out!

When we got home I played daddy in an exciting game. He hits the oddly shaped ball and I go chase it.

Mommy says I make her nervous when I'm running with a racket. I'm not sure why, I am in complete control!

This week I wore my favorite t-shirt with "Cool Kitty" on it. "Cool Kitty" is wearing pink sunglasses, just like me.

Have a great weekend!!

I loved seeing Riley in that "Cool Kitty" shirt... it was Norah's absolute favorite! In fact, I am not sure I should even show her these pictures... (o: Looks like you had a great time at your mom's.
